Massillon Independent Newspaper Ohio Evening News
The Massillon independent, which was formerly known as The Evening Independent, is a daily newspaper publication that releases new issues every weekday, as well as on Saturdays. It is based out of Massillon, Ohio, and owned by the company, GateHouse Media. Covering the entire western Stark County, which is located in Ohio, the areas included in its territories include: Beach City, Massillon, Canal Fulton, Brewster, Jackson, Navarre, Lawrence Township, Tuscarawas Township, and Perry.
GateHouse Media was able to acquire the Massillon Independent newspaper publication from its previous owner, Copley Newspapers, in April of 2007. The Massillon Independent has relationships with three other Ohio-based newspapers, all of them coming out of Northeast Ohio. These related newspaper publications include The Times-Reporter of New Philadelphia (a daily publication), The Suburbanite (a weekly publication) that is in the southern part of Summit County, and The Repository of Canton (a daily publication).
