IMC Galway – Irish Multiplex Cinemas Group

The Irish Multiplex Cinemas, which is also known by IMC Cinema Group, is one of the leading cinema chains in all of Ireland.  They own and operate multiple cinema locations throughout all of Ireland, as well as Northern Ireland.  Originally part of the Ward Anderson company, In 2013, it would end up being split between Irish Multiplex Cinemas (IMC) and the Omniplex Cinema Group.

When it comes to cinemas that are owned and operated by the IMC, you can expect there to be anywhere between five screens on the smaller side, going all the way up to ten screens on some of the larger ones.  They currently own a total of 18 cinemas altogether, having 15 of them that are located in the Republic of Ireland, with another 3 on top of that which are located in parts of Northern Ireland.  They have most recently purchased the Movieland cinema theater, which is located in Newtownards, County Down.  This was only possible because of the previous owner, Ernie as most people would call him, just recently passed away.

With so many different theaters to manage, you may think that they are all similar in their sizing.  This would be untrue, however.  In fact, their flagship theater, Savoy Cinema, is actually located in O’Connell Street, Dublin.  It is currently the oldest cinema in operation where you can still go and see movies to this day, in all of Dublin.  On top of that, Savoy Cinema is also considered to be the most preferred cinema for all film premieres that happen in the entire country of Ireland.  IMC did at one point also own Screen Cinema, which was in D’Olier Street, but would unfortunately end up closing down back in 2016.  This particular cinema was best known for all of the different alternative films that it would feature.

What makes the IMC chain of cinemas so exciting, is that each one is going to offer you something different.  Each theater is going to have different offers that you can take advantage of, some depending on the particular day.  If you would like to find out more information about the different offers that are being featured, simply visit their website and you will be able to get all of the details that you are looking for.  Some of the offers that have been featured in the past have included special cinema tickets at a much-reduced price and even on occasion, some types of concession deals as well.

When it comes to going to the movies, nothing is better than enjoying yourself and having a great time.  As with any movie theater experience, be sure that you are courteous to other movie-goers and do not ruin the film for others.  Just keep in mind that they have also paid to get in to see the feature, so the best thing that you can do is to try and behave how you would like the other people watching the feature with you to act.
