Irish Water Safety will run two 'Introduction to Water Safety' classes in Leisureland swimming pool during National Water Safety Awareness Week, which takes place from Monday, 26 May to Monday, 2 June.

These classes are aimed at adults, including non-swimmers, and will teach some of the basic skills needed to save a life. There will be a class at 8.30pm each night on Wednesday 28 May and Thursday 29 May. It will consist of a talk as well as demonstration and practice of rescue skills in the pool (bring swimwear for this). The class is free and all are welcome. Further information on water safety, including the dates of the summer Water Safety Weeks which will run at outdoor locations across the county from 9 June, can be found on www.iws.ie.
