Are you totally confused with the information available out there for weight loss? Are you coming across conflicting messages ‘eat what you want’ diets and miracle pills? And have you tried all sorts of diets and none have worked?
Well now is the time to say to yourself that this is going to be ‘The Last Diet’ you will try and one that will work – as it’s a lifestyle change not just a fad diet.
You might recall my first book called ‘The Last Diet’ a number of years ago. This is all about changing your life for the long term and not just your diet for a few weeks. This concept has not changed and my clinics still follow the principles of this book.
The current food pyramid and traditional nutritional guidelines are not helping us at all! The disparity between what is right and what is wrong is huge – do you eat fats and no carbs? Or do you eat what you want and just calorie count? Or eat a low fat high carb diet?! Confused yet?!
How do you know that the advice I am giving is right then?
Well if you think what I say makes sense and you see testimonials that say people have not only achieved their results but have felt fantastic doing so, then maybe this is the programme for you?! Read about Ciara’s testimonial from Galway below who lost over 3 stone.
If you follow my advice, this time you won’t see the excess weight returning – it will be gone forever.
In nutrition there are a few rules that can’t change;
• Calories count.
• A continued negative energy balance will create weight loss.
• A balanced diet is essential – a combination of macronutrients (protein, fats and carbohydrates) and micronutrients (vitamins and minerals).
Calories are the energy found in food that your body uses, and if you give it too much it will be stored as fat.
So if you want to use up the excess stored energy, you have to put less energy (food) into your body than it needs so that it will burn your reserves.
This energy will come from fat and lean muscular mass, however by selecting the foods correctly, you can minimalise the lean muscle loss and maximise the use of the fat reserves…and this is what the various diets do at Orsmond clinics. I might have a few tricks to get the initial weight loss moving quickly, get results to help you realise you can do it and keep you motivated to continue, but with this comes guidance and a new lifestyle full of healthy cooking and healthy habits.
There is even place for treats and parties!
Ciara was a 23 year old student and heard about Orsmond clinics from a lady in the gym her mum was attending.
Ciara says, “She said how well it had worked for her and I had tried everything but hadn’t been able to get the weight down.
I’m 5’0” and my weight was 12 stone – it was going up and down even when I was attending a Slimming World class and had a personal trainer! Now I’ve lost 3 stone and 3 lb, I was size 16 with a 43” waist and now I’m a size 10 with a 32” waist – I can only say I feel ecstatic!
“The plan was easy to follow and there was always great support from the staff on the phone and in person. I’ve learned how to eat the right portions for my body size – petite!”
