Galway United will be looking to bounce back from their latest league defeat at the hands of Shamrock Rovers, as they entertain reigning champions Drogheda United in Terryland Park this Friday.

United, despite their recent poor form, are only five points from safety and a win on Friday would boost the survival chances of the team and lift the spirits of all involved.

Drogheda have struggled to recapture their form of last season, and can be virtually ruled out of the title race at this early stage. A one-goal home defeat at the hands of Derry City last weekend – their latest in a run of bad results – will ensure they arrive in the west low in confidence, but anxious to secure a victory.

United will hope to have Mark McCulloch back from his injury lay-off, and a fit again John Lester may push for inclusion.

Kick-off is at 7.45pm Friday 27th June.
