LOYALTY REWARDED: Galway United supporter Jonathan Joyce has been announced as the winner of the 2007 Loyalty Card Competition. The initiative is designed to reward supporters who regularly attend Terryland Park and Jonathan was the lucky supporter who received the prize. Jonathan was presented with a Family Season Ticket worth €500 and two tickets to the upcoming Ireland v Brazil match by Galway United players Vinny Faherty and John Russell at Terryland Park on Saturday. As part of an ongoing effort to improve the matchday experience of its fans, Galway United has announced the installation of a high-tech new ticketing system at Terryland Park. The club will be the first in the eircom League of Ireland to add RFID chips to its season tickets. The tiny chips allow ticket information to be identified by radio waves, meaning holders can pass into the ground without swiping or displaying their tickets. The innovative system will allow supporters to gain faster access to the ground on match days and will also allow the club to develop a scheme to better reward loyal fans. Galway United Promotions Officer Daniel Walsh is enthusiastic about the system. "It's a powerful way of keeping up to date on our Season Ticket holders at Terryland. We will be shortly announcing details of a new loyalty scheme which will reward season ticket holders who regularly attend games at Terryland Park." The installation of the RFID (Radio-frequency identification) system was sponsored by efast.ie, specialists in asset tracking systems and tickets are now on sale from the club website and usual outlets. To encourage fans to purchase the tickets as soon as possible, the club has agreed a scheme that will allow children in free to all matches. Anyone who purchases a season ticket before Christmas will receive a free Terryland Tigers Season Ticket, which gives one under-12 child access to all eircom League of Ireland & domestic friendly matches when accompanied by an adult. The child can also attend the 2008 Pre-Season Open Day at Terryland where they will meet the players and receive their Tigers Membership Pack. Meanwhile, Walsh congratulated Galway supporter Jonathan Joyce, who has been announced as the winner of the club's 2007 Loyalty Card competition. Jonathan was presented with a Family Season Ticket worth €500 and two tickets to the upcoming Ireland v Brazil match by Galway United players Vinny Faherty & John Russell at Terryland Park last Saturday. |
