Galway United welcome Sligo Rovers to Terryland Park this Friday, in what has been seen by many as an excellent opportunity to secure United's first home victory of the season.

It certainly has been a season of turmoil for the Tribesmen, but after the performances of the past few weeks, there appears to be a light at the end of the tunnel.

United are sure to be without Mark Leech who has departed for Shamrock Rovers, and Derek O'Brien, who has joined St Pat's, but should have Jeff Kenna and Ian Foster available for selection.

Marc McCulloch made his long-awaited return from injury with a substitute appearance in Cork last weekend, and may push for selection on Friday.

Rovers will make the short trip south in search of the maximum return. They have been a breath of fresh air this season, with Paul Cook directing his team to some wonderful displays.

Sligo will be disappointed to have lost Fahrudin Kuduzovic to Drogheda United, but expect an open free-flowing game from both teams.
