Galway United will be hoping for their first win of the season in the eircom League when welcome Cork City to Terryland Park on Friday night (7.45pm).

Caretaker boss Billy Clery will be eager for his troops build on the performance away to champions Drogheda United last weekend.

Cork will be the more confident of the teams leading up to the game, after they finally earned their first victory of the season against UCD last Friday night, in a hard earned 1-0 win.

Although the Leesiders had to wait until game five of the season to register a victory, they still remain unbeaten in all competitions, having drawn all of their four opening games in the League and topping their section in the Setanta Cup.

United, on the other hand, have struggled all season, with an away draw against Cobh Ramblers their only reward thus far.

Clery has had an extensive injury list to deal with, but with the likes of Stephen O'Flynn, Daryl Robson and Derek Glynn still to return to the squad, and with competition for places increasing, hopes are high for a good performance from United.
