Billy Clery's Galway United U-21 side have secured a last sixteen place in the Dr. Tony O?Neill U-21 League.

United beat Letterkenny Rovers 4-3 on Saturday to guarantee them a place in the knock out stages of the competition thanks to goals from Keith Ward (2), John Russell and Alfredo Neto.

United currently occupy second place in the League table and have two home games left. United have to play Salthill Devon and Finn Harps at home in their final two games of the League campaign. The remaining matches still have some significance as the first and second placed teams will have home advantage in the final sixteen. Finn Harps are currently in third place in the table, two points behind United.
