Galway United FC will run a Referee Beginners Course on the 10th and 11th of May. The course will be run in conjunction with John Stacey, the FAI's Referee Recruitment Officer and the club is encouraging as many players and ex-players to attend as possible.

A constant supply of new referees is needed to help the development of the game in Galway and in the Galway & District League and there are also tremendous opportunities for players who might not make it at the highest level to instead develop a career as a top class referee.

The weekend course costs just €50 and will include nine hours classroom tutorials with a further six hours practical work.

Anyone interested in attending should contact the Galway United office in writing before Friday the 25th of April 2008.

The club have also pencilled in May 6th & 7th for the Kickstart 1 coaching course, run from 4-8pm each day in conjunction with Jonnie Morris Burke from the FAI.

The Kickstart 2 course will take place from May 20-22nd, running from 2-8pm each day. Again the Galway United office will take applications.
