CLASS ON COURT: Moycullen's Eoghan Maxwell who is having an impressive first season at National League level.

An under-strength Titans side notched up an impressive eighty points in Saturday's clash against Southern Conference leaders Team Meadowlands, St Brendans Tralee, but it was not enough to seal victory against the strong Kerry outfit.

With four regular starters missing, Titans drafted in Lithuanian trio Danas Pusinskas, Linas Mitkus and Sarunas Zvirblinskas.

But it was Paulius Peldzius who carried the scoring responsibilities for Titans in the first quarter, opening with eight early points. But a scoring burst from American Roscoe Patterson earned the Tralee side a 24-17 lead at quarter time.

Titans hit a phenomenal five three-pointers in succession to narrow the gap at the beginning of the second quarter with Jack Considine firing on all cylinders.

However St. Brendans captain John Quirke and his Lithuanian team-mate Tony Saltonas hit back with twenty-two points during the quarter to leave Tralee ahead 56-40 at half-time.

Titans held their own in the third quarter as Tom Costelloe and Danny Finn hit form, penetrating the centre of defence and making difficult shots over the towering Americans Patterson and Ricardo Leonard.

But seven points from ex-Superleague player Sean Carroll kept Tralee in front by 20. With the result out of reach, Coach Murphy made changes in the final quarter and St. Brendans eventually ran out comfortable winners 114-80.
