In Galway league action, Titans Division 2 women went down 50-33 to Corrib after creating several chances, but they are sure to rue the many missed opportunities that came their way. Sile Conneely Maguire impressed at both ends of the court for Titans while Leila Quinn always threatened from inside. Titans Frontdoor won a close tussle with Tribes 60-56 recording a valuable win as they continue to recover from an indifferent start. Matches to watch this week are Titans women vs Claregalway, Thursday, 9pm at Westside with Frontdoor and Themis away to Claregalway and Tribes respectively. Men's Division one takes a break till mid January with Titans Reservus topping the table for Xmas. In Juvenile league action Titans Under-16B began their season with an emphatic 68-50 victory over Clare Cascaders. After taking time to settle Titans flowed into an attractive running game as Connor Laffey and Gerald Echefu found room inside and worked hard on defence, although this was patchy when it came to rebounding. Francisco Mbozo led the front court well as Clare struggled to cope with the penetration Mbozo provided. Titans Under-14 B won 68-22 against Moycullen as this side continues to improve. Ronan McKeown controlled and distributed the ball and was well supported by Thomas Donovan who continues to impress. Ben Ling Chen was dominant inside as the whole side ran well throughout the match. But will need to step up their defence markedly to compete with the stronger sides in the league. Saturday at St Mary's will see four juvenile league matches take place starting at 12.30 with an Under-16 girls cup match. It will be a great opportunity to see several teams across different age groups. Titans Academy will take a break over Christmas from the 19th so please visit www.titans.ie for further information as well as details on wheelchair basketball, masters training, the Outreach and healthy lifestyles program, Christmas camp details which are open to all and training times for all adult leagues.
