History was made in the Connacht College's A soccer final last Wednesday afternoon, when St Mary's college Galway added the under-15 Connacht title to the First Year, under-14 , under-16 and Senior titles they have already won this season.

No Connacht college has ever achieved this feat of a clean sweep since the inception of the schools competitions.

In a one-sided final staged at the splendid Milebush Park, Mary's put six goals past Summerhill College Sligo, with Shane Maughan grabbing a hat-trick.

Tony Warde helped himself to a brace and James Casserly notched the other as the Mary's boys proved too strong for a brave Sligo side.

Captain Barry McEntee led by example throughout and a stout defence, where Shane Gallagher, Evan Browne and Eoin Walsh excelled, laid the platform for a fine attacking display.
