Championship specialists St Jarlath's College of Tuam secured a semi-final spot in this year's Connacht title race with a 2-14 to 0-6 win over Summerhill College on Sunday.

The most successful college in the country led by 1-7 to 0-0 at the interval, with David Shallow getting the goal before the break.

Michael Kelly scored the Tuam side's second goal in the 49th minute.

Goals from Dean Gavin, Jason Doherty and Philip Keehan earned Rice College of Westport a comfortable 3-10 to 0-7 win over St Gerald's of Castlebar.

Rice College will face St Colman's in the Connacht semi-final after the Claremorris side recorded a 1-13 to 0-8 win over St Attracta's of Tubbercurry in Charlestown.

St Jarlath's will have to wait to see who they will face in their Connacht semi-final after Ballina's St Muredach's and St Mary's from the city play tomorrow.
