Caltra 1-11 The Caltra attacker took just 40 seconds to find the net and put a serious dent in the confidence of a Tuam side who have promised a lot this year. In fairness, Tuam recovered from their nightmare start with points from Galway minor John Ross Bodkin, another from Shane Curtin and a brace from full-forward Darren Kelly to go in at half-time only a point behind at 1-4 to 0-6. The introduction of the old guard Ja Fallon and Tommy Carton settled Tuam and after the restart a pair of frees from Carton pushed the north Galway side into the lead midway through the second half. But a ten-minute spell near the end which saw Caltra kick six unanswered points sealed the win at Tuam Stadium on Saturday evening. Three late frees for Bodkin closed the gap to one, but agonisingly the wing-forward missed an injury-time free from distance that would have forced a deserved extra time. The Caltra full-forward line caused all the damage and scored all but one of their team's total. Michael Meehan was back to his best with 1-5 and three points from Shane Hogan meant the 2004 All-Ireland champions, who won their only Galway crown the previous year, secured their place in the last four.
