A meeting to launch Westside Tennis Club took place at Westside Library
last week. Mayor Niall O Brolchain and Deputy Mayor Billy Cameron both
attended.
The following were elected as the inaugural committee: Marie Flaherty, Mike Geraghty, Martina Jordan, Bernadette Laffey and Patricia O'Connor-Carberry. On Sunday February 11th, 30 players (juniors and adults) braved the elements. The committee hope to make Sunday afternoon tennis at Westside courts a regular occurrence and intend to organise coaching sessions, match play and generally provide people with the opportunity to play tennis. It is open to everyone and continues next Sunday February 18th from 2-4 pm. |
