Galway United will aim to turn some impressive away performances into home wins this Friday evening as they host fellow relegation-candidates UCD in Terryland Park (7.45pm).

This is a huge match for United as they bid to build on the impressive away wins against Bray Wanderers and Finn Harps and secure their place in the top flight of Irish football.

Away from the constraints and pressures of performing at home, United have secured 11 of their 14 points on the road, and have held some of their best performances for away trips.

UCD have been involved in five 0-0 draws and five 1-0 results, but they were well beaten by St Pat's last time out (3-0) and are coming into this fixture on the back of two consecutive defeats.

United will have captain John Fitzgerald available after injury and suspension but doubts remain over Alan Keane as he is still struggling with a knee injury.

If United can relax into the game they should have the superior quality to emerge from the fixture with the three points and escape the relegation zone for the first time all season.
