Galway 0-15
Cork 2-9
In key camogie matches Galway were sickened for the second time in recent weeks when a late goal denied them victory in the All-Ireland intermediate camogie final to a replay.

Galway looked to have the game wrapped up when they led by four points with just three minutes left to play and then a Michelle Browne free reduced the deficit to the minimum. Galway still looked safe but just as the game ticked into added time, Niamh Dilworth had delivered a long ball into the danger area and in a goal mouth scramble Maria Walsh crashed to ball to the Galway net.

Galway will need to pick up the pieces before the face this Cork side again in the replay on 10 October, but the dominated much of this game. Galway defence were under much pressure in the early stages but custodian Deirdre Ward was superb.

However an Eimear Watson goal four minutes from the break rattled Galway and when the half time whistle sounded, Cork held the advantage as they led by 1-7 to 0-7.

Galway responded at the start of the second half and a succession of four unanswered points in as many minutes from Martina Conroy and Tara Ruttledge pushed Galway into a 0-11 to 1-7 advantage. While Galway looked to have the game wrapped up, no Cork team are ever beaten until the final whistle and after Brown’s free Cork were back chasing the goal and Walsh duly obliged.
