European Super Middleweight kickboxing champion Cathal Manning continued his winning ways when he stopped Kilkenny's Myles Price in front of a packed house of vocal fans in Galway's Black Box Theatre on Saturday Night.

Having first dropped the brave Noresider with a full roundhouse kick to the side of the head, the referee finally stopped the bout when Manning fired off a barrage of punches into the ribs of his beleaguered opponent.

The event, which was shown on TG4 on Sunday evening, was a great success for the Galway Black Dragon Kickboxing Club. Manning will be in action in the Black Box again on May 24 when he will defend his European Title against a Belgian opponent.

There were also some excellent support fights on the night, notably a rousing drawn contest between Paul Huish Galway and Dublin's Barry McGuire.

Another rising Galway star is Eric Daly from Gort, who defeated Tallaght's Leon O'Connor over three rounds and will now challenge for the Superlight Title on April 27th in Ennis.

In his debut fight, Eric's brother Keith also triumped over Limerick's Ivan Ryan, while Junior fighters Adam Canavan and Martin Corcoran recorded exciting wins over Kilkenny opponents and Catherine Cullinane overcame Waterford's Leanne Carbury.

Darren Byrne from Moycullen recorded a draw with Tallaght's Martin Kenny and the exciting T-Bob from Romania stopped Kilkenny's Kane Nelson in the third round.

In another bout that went the distance, Connor McCallion edged out Khazikstan's Aziz Tali and James Aherne defeated Limerick's Ken Radcliffe in a fast-paced bout.
