Former All-Ireland winning midfielder Sean O Domhanill and All-Star Tom Naughton will work as Joe Kernan's selectors after being ratified at a meeting of Galway Football Board on Friday night. O Domhnaill was an inspirational figure when Galway emerged from the shadows to end a 32-year famine when they captured the 1998 All-Ireland final against Kildare.

His midfielder partner that day Kevin Walsh has already made a successful foray into inter-county management with Sligo and the An Cheathru Rua clubman will hope to emulate his fellow Connemara native.

Tom Naughton was a regular wing-forward on the Galway team throughout the 1970s and into the 1980s and while he endured All-Ireland final losses in 1973, '74 and '83, when he was captain but was ruled out through injury, he was selected as an All Star in 1974. He was manager of the Galway minor team in 1993 and since then has been involved with a number of clubs in Galway, including Caltra the year before they went on to win their first county senior title and then went all the way to All-Ireland glory.
