Adam Kennedy, hero of the Connacht youths, crowned a glorious week when he guided Marist College from Athlone into the semi-finals of the schools senior cup.

Kennedy landed a brace of drop goals, scored a try and kicked two penalties as Calasanctius were put to the sword in Athlone.

Leading by 6-3 at half time, Marist extended their lead in the second half with two more penalties and a try, all from Kennedy, to which Calasanctius had no reply.

Fly-half Barry Daly kicked a penalty for Calasanctius in the opening half but their hopes of reaching the semi-finals were dashed by an impressive Marist side.
