Galway boss Ger Loughnane has lined up a series of challenge matches to get his side fine-tuned for the championship. Galway played Clare at O'Callaghan Mills on Sunday and next Sunday will take on Cork at Pairc Ui Chaoimh in another challenge. Galway will not enter the championship until June 28 when they travel to take on Antrim at Casement Park. And while Galway reached the league final where they went down to Tipperary, they will go ten weeks between competitive matches. Loughnane will bring his charges to Cranford near Gorey to meet Wexford on the June Bank Holiday before they will take on Limerick at Loughrea two days later, on Wednesday, June 4. "Training is going well and these challenge matches will bring the side on more," said Galway Hurling Board secretary John Fahy. |
