Clare hurler Tony Griffin "cannot wait" to face Galway in the All-Ireland hurling second round qualifier in Cusack Park, Ennis on Saturday week 11 July. Griffin was speaking ahead of the Gaelic Performance camp, which will be held on Monday and Tuesday next 29 and 30 June in GMIT.

"We both know each other so well," said Griffin. "Galway dominated us physically in the league, but to be honest we would be more worried if we had to travel to Galway to play."

However Griffin believes that getting back on the horse is vital for all teams straight after a defeat. "I suppose when you lose in the provincial semi-final all you want is another game to put things right. You'd play anyone the next morning. Galway were probably the toughest draw of the lot but they'll give us a good test I'd imagine. They usually bring the best out of teams.

"I coached one of the Performance camps in Dublin on Monday and all the kids were talking about was Joe Canning. The game has been crying out for a rising star like him."

Over 100 young GAA enthusiasts are expected to attend the Gaelic Performance camp in Galway. More information on the camp is available at www.gaelicperformance.ie
