Galwegians 5 Galwegians went down to league leaders Cork Constitution at Crowley Park on Saturday in their penultimate game of the season despite having beaten the Munster side upfront for most of the game. Having opted to play against the wind Galwegians went behind as winger Cronan Healy went over for a try after just four minutes. Galwegians were then penalised on 19 minutes when outside centre Brett Sweeney was judged to have tackled high, resulting in a penalty for Cork Constitution which full back Richie Lane put between the posts to extend their lead. That's how it stayed until half time and on the hour mark the Munster side went further in front through an Evan Ryan try after a clearance was blocked down on the Galwegians line. With the first half's strong wind having died down, Galwegians didn't have the advantage they had been banking on but with backs to the wall kept the pressure on Cork Con and were awarded for their efforts when winger John Cleary went over for a try in the far left corner with just two minutes remaining. Unfortunately Liam Bibo missed the difficult touchline conversion which would have earned 'Wegians a bonus point.
