Nick Morahan, who has taken up the position of Sales Executive with
Galway United as the club prepares for its return to the top flight of
Irish football.
Galway United has announced their newest signing and one that will be crucial to the success of the club over the coming years. Nick Morahan has been appointed as Sales Executive and his primary brief will be to facilitate the Galway business community get behind the club's return to the top flight of Irish football. Coinciding with his appointment is the launch of the club's new product brochure. The 2007 product brochure is a catalogue of all sponsorship opportunities that are available at Galway United ranging from perimeter, website and programme advertising; matchday and player sponsorship, to annual events and corporate membership. "United's recent elevation to the top flight of Irish domestic soccer provides a platform for companies to improve their brand awareness in the local community," said Morahan, who will be reporting to the club's General Manager, Nick Leeson. "With Galway United operating on a full time professional basis there are huge opportunities for the businesses of Galway to get behind the team and help support this ambitious club. There will be over 50 eircom League games televised live next season with many of them at Terryland Park," he added. Galway United have organised a number of pre-season friendlies to kickstart their preparation for the 2007 eircom Premier League. Shiven Rovers, Newbridge will be the venue for United's friendly encounter with Monaghan United on Tuesday 13th February, kick-off 7.45pm. United will host Finn Harps on Friday 16th February at 7.45 in Terryland Park while Athlone Town will be the visitors to Terryland on the 3rd of March with a Saturday afternoon kick off of 3pm. The United squad is traveling to Spain on the 20th of February for a week long training camp in preparation for the season ahead. 2007 season tickets are currently on sale from Zhivago Records, Shop Street; Galway United Office, Terryland Park and online at www.galwayunitedfc.ie. With still over a month to the season kicking off, tickets are selling well with over 430 season tickets sold to date; the aim of 1000 season ticket sales before the season start is now an attainable goal. Adult tickets cost ?175, concession ?80 while children under 16 go free if accompanied by an adult. Ticket holders will also receive a voucher booklet to the value of ?250 for local business throughout the county. Meanwhile, the club's annual Black & White Ball will be held in th Radisson SAS Hotel on Friday March 2nd, when the entertainment will be headed by Mario Rosenstock, creator of the award winning radio show "Gift Grub". Meanwhile, the club is currently recruiting match day stewards. There will be a meeting of all stewards on the 10th of February at 7.30pm in Terryland Park. An incentive package will also be in place for the coming season. |
