Galway will be bidding to build on their bright start to the FBD League when they travel to take on Leitrim at Carrick-on-Shannon on Sunday. Dessie Dolan's Leitrim also made a winning start to the competition when they defeated GMIT by 2-7 to 0-8 at Pairc Sean on Sunday. This should be another test as both sides strive to get momentum going ahead of the national league campaign. GMIT will hope to bounce back from their opening day defeat when they take on Sligo in Tubbercurry. And NUIG will also be in action, hoping to build on their 2-9 to 0-14 win over Mayo when they meet Roscommon in Dangan. Meanwhile, the Connacht hurling league will commence this weekend when the Galway Development squad head to Athleague to play Roscommon on Saturday in what is a knockout competition with a shield section. NUIG will host Mayo in Dangan while GMIT will entertain Sligo IT. |
