Wrong decisions cost United
Over 1,000 people were in Eamonn Deacy Park on Friday night to watch the SSE Airtricity League game between Galway United and Longford Town. United couldn’t have asked for a better start, with just over a minute gone in the game, Vinny Faherty lobbed the ball over Longford’s keeper, Paul Skinner, for his eighth goal of the season. Connacht need to avoid Glasgow Kiss
Just imagine if the rugby organisers didn’t add the playoff feature to the Pro12 a few seasons back. We’d have a final game top of the table clash between Glasgow and Connacht for the title. What an atmosphere that would have generated at a sold out Sportsground this weekend. Galway hit Cork for six
Galway Women’s FC got back to winning ways in Midleton on Sunday afternoon in the Continental Tyres WNL when they ran out 6-1 winners over hosts Cork City. Galway got off to a lucky start when a Shauna Fox long range free kick came off the unlucky head of a Cork defender and into the net after just seven minutes to put the visitors ahead.read more...
