Galway senior camogie team, under the watchful eye of former Galway hurling captain Liam Donoghue, remain unbeaten after they defeated Cork on Sunday.

The round robin series have Galway on the verge of a semi final place after defeating last year's beaten finalist Cork by 1-9 to 0-9 at Páirc Uí Rinn.

Galway led by 0-6 to 0-4 at the break and although the Tribes girls stretched their lead, Cork struck back to bring the game to parity at 0-8 apiece.

Galway substitute Lourda Kavanagh proved to the heroine of the Galway side when she blasted to the Cork net three minutes from time.

Jessica Gill scored seven of Galway's points, six frees and a forty five, while Rachel Moloney scored six points of the loser's total.
