Galway Development 6-19
Sligo 1-2

Cathal Dervan did the bulk of the damage as Vincent Mullins' Galway Development squad were far too good for a below-par Sligo in the Connacht Hurling Cup semi-final at Tourlestrane on Sunday.

Dervan helped himself to 3-3 as the Galway side fired six goals in all to complete a facile 32 point win.

Sligo full-forward Fergus Hayes found the Galway net in the first half as his side put up some resistance early on. And some fine saves from Kyle Doyle in the Sligo goal kept the margin respectable for long periods.

But goals from Adrian Cullinane, Eoin Forde and Paul Killilea extended the Galway lead as they pulled away in the second half.

The Galway Development squad will now play GMIT in the final.
