St Brigid's, Loughrea 2-18 Cooney blasted an unstoppable shot from 30 yards into the top left corner to crown a deserved win for the Loughrea school. A goal from Conall Larkin after seven minutes, after being set up by the impressive Shane Dolan, gave St Brigid's a great boost and they were well on their way to the title when they led by 1-6 to 0-8 at the break having played against the wind. Wing-back Mark Horan landed five points, four of them from placed balls, as Dolan hit three from play in the second-half. Cathal Greaney and Daithi Burke kept Athenry in contention in the second-half but the best efforts of Keelan Cullinane and sub Ronan Badger were not enough to haul them back in the second-half.
