Connacht will take on Leinster in a couple of 'A' games next month.

The first of these will take place at the Sportsground in Galway on Tuesday, February 5, with a 2.30pm kick-off.

The second A tie between the provinces will be on Thursday, February 21, when they meet at Donnybrook in a game which will start at 5pm.

Academy Manager and Coach of the Connacht 'A' team, Nigel Carolan feels that these matches are a good chance to gauge players who are currently not on the first teams of both provinces.

"These games give players a chance show what they can do," the former Connacht winger said. "It's also an opportunity for the coaches to see all of their talent performing, rather than in the AIL or in training.

"We've had a number of these games over the years and they've always proven to be extremely competitive which is understandable because every player in these games is hungry to step up to the next level," he said.
