Glasgow Warriors 16 Connacht's hopes of making it two wins from three in the Magners League came unstuck when Glasgow hit a late winning penalty at Firhill on Friday evening. Connacht looked to have done enough in a poor match to take the points when Tim Donnelly edged them in front with a penalty from halfway ten minutes from time. But Glasgow, who lost two of three decisions by the Television Match Official, came with a surge and Colin Gregor denied Connacht when he steered over a penalty from in front of the posts. Glasgow led 10-6 at half-time with Connacht starting and finishing the half well, with Donnelly edging them in front with a fourth minute penalty and then landing a drop goal as the half came to a close. But in between Glasgow hit the front with Gregor levelling the match with a 13th minute penalty before the TMO awarded a try to John Beattie after another great break by superb Puma full-back Bernardo Stortoni after 29 minutes. Connacht were down to ten men at the time after No.8 Colm Rigney was yellow carded. Gregor extended Glasgow's lead with another penalty two minutes after the restart but Connacht hit back and Donnelly reduced the deficit with a 53rd minute penalty. A superb intervention by Ofisa Treviranus deprived Gregor of a certain try after 56 minutes and Connacht added to Glasgow's woes when Donnelly landed a superb drop goal from 30 metres to make leave them just a point behind at 13-12 going into the final quarter. Connacht hit the front when Donnelly landed a penalty from halfway but just when it seemed this would be enough, Gregor secured Glasgow's first win of the campaign in the dying moments.
