Connacht wrapped up their preparations for the new season when they took on Queensland Reds at the Sportsground last night, the first Super 14 side to visit Galway. The game was the fourth and final in Connacht's pre-season campaign and they will now turn their attentions to the opening game of the Magners League on Friday week at home to the Ospreys. An experimental Connacht side continued the pre-season campaign on Friday night when they went down 17-12 to London Welsh in a dogged affair. The Londoners led 12-5 at the break with hooker Conor Muldoon scoring his first try for the province. Gavin Duffy reduced the deficit on 57 minutes picking up a loose ball on the 40 metre line after a garryowen from scrum half Kieran Campbell, and ran in for the try to make the score 10-12 to the visitors with out-half Ian Keatley levelling with the conversion but Tom Brown got his second try to seal the win for the visitors. |
