Connacht coach Michael Bradley has boosted his squad with the signing of Samoan centre Niva Ta'auso. The 28-year old joins Connacht from the Highlanders and he will arrive in Galway in October after he completes his contract in New Zealand. ![]() NEW SIGNING . . . Samoan centre Niva Ta'auso who will be joining Connacht in October. The experienced centre will add a cutting edge to the Connacht three-quarters. Connacht manager Tim Allnutt sees Ta'auso as a major addition to the side. "Niva is a very powerful strong running centre," he said. "He's a linebreaker and a good distributor of the ball and we feel he'll improve our play in a crucial area," he said. Ta'auso will be bringing a wealth of experience with him to Connacht having previously played with the Waikato Chiefs before joining the Highlanders in 2007. He has also been capped 22 times in Super 14 competition and was also capped by the Junior All Blacks in 2006. Meanwhile, Connacht's offer 'Early Bird' season tickets will continue until Friday week. Supporters who purchase before July 25th will get a discount on season tickets for the 2008-09 campaign. Connacht have lined up pre-season friendlies in August against Leeds (August 9th), Harlequins (August 16th), London Welsh (August 22nd) and Queensland Reds (August 26th). In addition they will have nine home matches in the Magners League and three pool games in the European Challenge Cup including a first ever competitive tie against London Irish. |
