Connacht are fuming after being snubbed at a function to launch of the new Magners League season.

Representatives of all ten participating clubs were invited to a launch in Swansea last week, the highlight of which was a DVD presentation of about 10 minutes highlighting the best of the action from the sides from Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
But the film presentation failed to show a single clip of Connacht in action — and to add insult to injury there were about eight or nine clips of the now defunct Border Reivers in action!

There were numerous shots of all the other participating sides in action and disbelief as Border Reivers, who went out of business at the end of last season in a cost-cutting measure by the Scottish RFU, were shown scoring tries while there was no mention of Connacht.

Connacht had a number of representatives at the function including manager Tim Allnutt and team captain Andrew Farley.
Connacht have made their displeasure known to Magners League chiefs but, remarkably, had still not received a reply from the competition bosses by this week.

A spokesperson for the Magners League said the failure to include Connacht coverage was an oversight. “All of the footage used in the DVD compilation for the launch of the 2007/2008 Magners League season was provided to us by our TV partners. Unfortunately, there was no TV coverage of any of Connacht's 2006/2007 season home games. However, we acknowledge that it was an oversight that footage from Connacht's away games was not included and we will certainly take steps to rectify this mistake in all future compilations. "It was genuinely not the intention of anyone involved in the new season's launch to deliberately omit a club from the DVD,” said the spokesperson.
