Connemara championship links is to undergo a major facelift with the redevelopment of its club house. The €2 million project will include an extension to the restaurant and bar which will take full advantage of the spectacular views over the course at the internationally acclaimed course

A new pro shop and new locker rooms are also planned, and the 6-month redevelopment project is due for completion at the end of May 2007, in time for the busy summer season.

The golf course will remain open during the redevelopment phase and a temporary bar & restaurant, locker rooms and Pro Shop will be used during the construction period.

The project contractor is local builder, Martin Acton Construction, and interior designers, the Kaye Rice Partnership, will be responsible for a unique, contemporary design in the bar and restaurant which will optimize the use of the extended space.

"With the ever-increasing number of visitors to the course as well as a broadening membership base, we were keen to invest in new top-class facilities," said Richard Flaherty, general manager of the Connemara course.

"We are grateful for the patience of both our local members and visitors during the construction phase and are certain that they will be pleased with the end result," he added.

Connemara championship links is one of the premier links clubs in Ireland and has been receiving worldwide acclaim for its 27-hole Championship layout.
