| Club action takes centre stage as host of games down for decision |

The first round proper of the Claregalway Hotel Galway Senior Football Championship will take place next weekend, but two qualifier games have yet to be decided. Killanin have to play Tuam Stars and the winners will take on Corofin in the first round proper while Moycullen also have another outing when they play Caltra in the qualifiers. Mountbellew/Moylough await the winners of that encounter in the first round proper. The Killanin v Tuam Stars game will be the first of the weekend action when they meet in Pearse Stadium on Saturday at 5.30pm and will be followed by the meeting of Moycullen and Caltra at 6.30pm In Tuam Stadium on Saturday evening St Michael's will play Caherlistrane in the Claregalway Hotel Galway Intermediate Football Championship at 5.30pm and this game will be followed by the first round clash of last year's beaten finalists Milltown v Kilkerrin/Clonberne in the senior championship at 7pm. In Menlough there are two games down for decision in the intermediate championship with St James's and Glenamaddy meeting at 5.30pm and this game will be followed by the clash of Oranmore/Maree taking on Corofin at 7pm. On Sunday in the SFC at Pearse Stadium at 2pm NUIG, who are always a force if they can get all their team together, will likely prove too strong for Connemara side Micheal Breathnachs. This game will be followed at 3.30 by the meeting of Claregalway and An Cheathru Rua. There are also two senior games for decision at Tuam Stadium on Sunday evening at 5pm where Monivea/Abbey are pitted against Salthill/Knocknacarra and this game will be followed by the meeting of Killererin and Cortoon Shamrocks at 7.30. In Clonberne on Sunday evening, Williamstown will take on Dunmore McHale's in the IFC at 7pm. |
