The Gala All Ireland senior camogie championship semi-final between Galway and Wexford scheduled for Nowlan Park in Kilkenny on Saturday was called of due to heavy rain.

The other semi-final between Cork and Tipperary, also scheduled for the venue, also fell victim to the appalling weather.

The heavy rain on the previous night on the night made conditions impossible and the games were called off in the interest of safety to everybody.

Credit must be given to camogie officials for making the call three hours before the first game was due to commence.

The cancellation with create much problems and more particularly for Galway who are also involved in the intermediate camogie semi-final and in the TG4 All Ireland Ladies Gaelic Football quarter-final with members of the senior camogie panel involved in both of these teams.
