Galway 2-23 A near full strength Offaly side will not be disappointed as they held their shape far better than their opening championship defeat to Wexford. Offaly, starting with 13 of the side which opened against Wexford, led by 0-6 to 0-0 after 11 minutes as Brian Carroll landed points from all angles. A Joe Gantley opportunist goal got Galway going and Offaly led by just 0-12 to 1-8 at the break. Kevin Hynes impressed around the middle of the field after being introduced by Galway and Farragher edged them in front with a goal from a penalty after 42 minutes. Galway finished strongly in their final challenge game before taking on Kilkenny on Saturday week with Eoin Forde landing four late points to one he got in the opening half.
