New Irish pop/rock group The Geddes bring their Irish tour to Monroe’s Live on Thursday, 26 November.
The Geddes return to Monroe’s Live after playing at the Rocktoberfest music festival at the venue in early October. The Dublin based group have been causing quite a stir on the Irish music scene since they released their debut single ‘Frontline’ late last year. The single was a massive success and was chosen by UTV group radio (FM104, Q102, Galway Bay FM and more) as their ‘Select Irish’ track for the month of February. 98FM, iRadio and many regional stations also gave their debut song plenty of airplay.
The band released their second single titled ‘We’re Only Human’ on 24 April this year and it too received a phenomenal reaction, charting high on the digital download charts. In May, the guys took Dublin by storm when they released their debut EP ‘Human’ and performed their first ever headline show to a sell-out audience at Whelan’s in Dublin. The EP reached No.1 on the iTunes pop album chart and No.2 on the overall iTunes album chart.
The band is made up of Dubliners Eammon Hegarthy, Gavin Doyle, Jason Keogh, Swedish native Theo Moll and is fronted by Mayo native Liam Geddes. Liam had a short stint on TV talent show The Voice of Ireland in 2012, when he was mentored by ex-Westlife member Kian Egan. He made it to the quarterfinals of the competition and after departing The Voice, Liam threw himself into the live music scene which has led to the formation of the very talented Geddes. The band are releasing their third single which is titled ‘Warrior’ on Friday 27 November. The single is now available for pre-order.
Doors for their Monroe’s Live show are open at 10pm with tickets costing €10/€7 online at www.monroes.ie.
