Brendan Dowling died suddenly on Friday. He was buried on Sunday. Brendan Dowling left a big mark on Galway and Connacht rugby. He won Connacht Junior Cups with Corinthians in 1951 (12-6 v Roscommon) and 1952 (12-0 v Rovers). He kicked two penalties in the first win and dropped a goal in the second win. Before that he lost a final with Corinthians to Rovers (6-3) in 1950 but if he did it was he who scored the three points with a drop goal.
