Chasing a fourth successive All Ireland title Cork totally outclassed Galway in the TG4 All Ireland Ladies Gaelic football quarter final in dreadful conditions at Dr Hyde Park, Roscommon on Saturday. Munster kingpins Cork were inspired by two-goal hero Valerie Mulcahy and a majestic midfield performance from Juliette Murphy, who captained the team to All-Ireland glory in 2005, 2006 and 2007.

Galway United have been handed home advantage when they will take on Bray Wanderers in the quarter-finals of the FAI Cup.

Galway United 0, Bohemians 2

Despite playing with nine men for the majority of the second half, Bohemians held out for a routine victory over Galway United, increasing their stranglehold at the top of the table.

David Mullins operated the Donigna Bloodstock Agency in Lexington, USA. He was the son of Capt. Luke Mullins, Secretary of Galway Races. May he rest in peace.
