Renault has announced world champion paracyclist Mark Rohan as a Renault Ireland Ambassador and the face of Renault’s sponsorship of the 2012 Irish Paralympic Team.
Thirty-year old Mark, who is from Ballinahown, Co. Westmeath, recently qualified for his first Paralympic Games by winning gold at the UCI Paracycling Road World Championships in Denmark and is considered a serious contender to medal at the Games in London next year.
Rohan also made paracycling history in August becoming the first ever athlete to win six World Cup Gold Medals in a row. He had double Gold Medal wins in both Sydney in May and Segovia, Spain in July and a further double gold in Canada in August and is the current holder of the World Leader Jersey.
“Mark is an athlete that embodies Renault and Paralympics Ireland values and he truly is inspiring beyond belief. We are all fully behind Mark and his team mates as they prepare for the Paralympic Games in London 2012 and we are delighted that Mark will represent Ireland and Renault on this challenging and truly rewarding journey for Paralympics Ireland,” said Renault Ireland Managing Director Eric Basset.
Mark will drive a brand new spacious and comfortable Renault Grand Scenic as he travels to training and competitions.
