Sherry FitzGerald Farrell, Gort, Co. Galway was short-listed in the inaugural Sherry FitzGerald Franchise of the Year awards ceremony at a gala dinner in Carton House, Maynooth this week. The competition was close and the winner was Sherry FitzGerald Reynolds in Dungarvan.

The process of selection involved an assessment of the entire network - over 100 offices - using criteria such as service standards, marketing material, operations, growth and participation. From this nationwide assessment, 12 businesses were short-listed. All participants went through an in-depth interview process.

Sherry FitzGerald has the largest national network in Ireland with 114 branch offices and it was listed in the Top 50 Companies to work for in Ireland last year.

Sherry FitzGerald Farrell is a new company, headed up by Colm Farrell and his wife Geraldine. They set up Colm Farrell Auctioneers in May 2001, and saw joining the Sherry FitzGerald countrywide network in March 2003 as the best way to further develop their business. In 2006, Sherry FitzGerald Farrell opened a second office in Kinvara.

This company offers services to the people of South Galway and North Clare. There is a high demand for sites and residential properties in these areas.

The company is a Member of the Institute of Professional Auctioneers and Valuers (IPAV).
