| Over 2 million euro for terraced house at Taylors Hill |

![]() No. 10 St Mary's Terrace, Taylors Hill, attracted enormous interest and was sold by auctioneer Colm O'Donnellan for a record price of €2,150,000 at auction. The property comprised of a five bedroom terraced residence, located at the bottom end of Taylors Hill and was described by the agents O'Donnellan and Joyce as "a unique period residence located in one of Galway's most desirable areas." Bidding commenced at €1.3 million. Within a rapid period of ten minutes and with bids increasing in increments of €50,000 it was eventually sold for over €2 million, with the auction room echoing to a rapturous applause for the new buyer. The property was €650,000 in excess of the seller's expectations. Immediately after that O'Donnellan & Joyce placed a commercial property on the corner of Flood Street up for auction. The property comprised of 600 square foot of ground floor retail with offices overhead. Bidding commenced at €1 million with five people chasing the property and bids coming from all across the room. It reached a figure of €2 million and it was left to two individuals who bid intensely for the property until it was sold for €2,040,000 which was €1 million in excess of what the sellers were anticipating. Colm O'Donnellan of O'Donnellan & Joyce outlined that they were absolutely delighted for their clients with the tremendous prices achieved and it further reinforced the enormous interest that there is for extremely well located Galway City properties. |
