The new commercial and residential development at Claregalway Shopping Centre was officially launched last Tuesday by Noel Grealish TD. There was an exciting atmosphere as the ribbon was cut on the latest development in the heart of the village as well as some important announcements made on the day.

Hughes Supermarket is now to come under the banner of SuperValu, a decision that ensures that Hughes’ customers are offered the best in value and choice in the years ahead. A crucial milestone in the development of the area was also made last week as Noel Grealish TD announced his intention to meet with Minister for Transport Noel Dempsey to present the preliminary report prepared by the county council for the long awaited Claregalway Bypass. The Hughes family have expanded their offering by opening a new modern home store called Home and Living situated in the new expanded section of the shopping centre.

The new architecturally designed courtyard with spacious underground car park comprises of both prime retail units and luxurious residential apartments. The fluid design of the courtyard produces a relaxing and inviting environment to shopping, eating out and simply just relaxing. Established businesses successfully trading include, RC Hair Salon and Barber, MacLaverty Travel, Beyond Beauty and Treat Café.

This new development aims to provide something for everyone, this in turn offers exciting opportunities for dynamic businesses to locate in this budding satellite town.
