Described by The Irish Times as ‘turning the circus tradition upside down’, the award winning Tumble Circus bring the one man show ‘Starman’ to the Town Hall Theatre on Monday, 25 April.
A heavenly mix of circus comedy and cardboard, Starman follows the journey of one man and his life as a circus artist, a dad and a clown searching for the answers to life’s big questions. With an energetic mix of acrobatics, stand-up, slapstick and his giant cardboard star, Starman is an entertaining expedition into what happens when dreams and destiny collide.
Written and performed by Ken Fanning and directed by Colm O’Grady, this new family friendly show from the award winners behind This Is What We Do For A Living (2012) and Damn the Circus (2013) will be a firm favourite with anyone who has experienced the bitter sweet chaos of life.
‘If you’re prepared to be challenged, both emotionally and intellectually, by a man who ends his performance spouting existentialism while parading in a giant cardboard star, I can’t recommend Starman enough.’ The West Australian ★★★★
‘Starman has juggling and sequins, humour and pathos, stars of the cardboard cutout variety’’ The Adelaide Fringe Festival ★★★
‘Refreshing and unique’ Belfast Festival of Queens
The show runs at 8pm on Monday 25 April at the Town Hall, tickets are €15 / €12 from www.tht.ie or 091-569777
