The deadline is fast approaching for nominations for the Junior Chamber International (JCI) Galway Outstanding Young People of the Year Competition, which recognises outstanding young people between the ages of 18 and 40.
The competition is free to enter and members of the public are invited to nominate someone they feel should be recognised. There are 10 categories under which nominations can be made: business; politics; academic achievements; culture; moral/environmental leadership; contribution to children/world peace/human rights; humanitarian/voluntary leadership; scientific/technological development; personal improvement/accomplishment; and medical innovation.
“The TOYP program serves to formally recognise young people who excel in their chosen fields and exemplify the best attributes of the world’s young people,” said Keith Killilea, JCI Galway President 2016. After the local awards, the Galway winners may go on to be recognised nationally and possibly internationally for their achievements.
