Sunshine on the cards

Monday, 17th July, 2017 10:52am

A warm start to the week could see temperatures hit a scorching 26 degrees today.

“Dry, warm and sunny” weather is promised in the West today (Monday) according to the national forecaster with maximum temperatures of 20 to 26 degrees.

Winds will be light and variable generally, says Met Éireann, with moderate onshore sea breezes developing in coastal parts in the afternoon.

Tonight will be dry with clear skies, however a few isolated mist patches may form. Lowest temperatures of 12 to 14 degrees.

The warm weather will continue into Tuesday, with more good weather predicted.

“Tomorrow, Tuesday, will be another dry day and it will be very warm with plenty of sunshine, though it will become a little cloudier later. Highest temperatures of 21 to 27 degrees in mostly moderate southeasterly breezes,” Met Éireann’s website read.

However, the good weather looks set to break by Wednesday, with showery outbreaks of rain expected.
