Galway Actors’ Workshop has announced a new term of classes beginning in Loughrea tomorrow.
‘Acting for Fun’ is a new course starting in Loughrea on Thursday, 27 March, running for six weeks.
This course is open to both beginners and those who have done some acting previously. The course covers all the basics in approaching acting and theatre through a varied selection of games, exercises, improvisations and techniques, whilst sharing with the students all the fun to be had in the rehearsal room.
The course will be led by Sarah O’Toole. Sarah is a graduate of the Gaiety School of Acting. She worked in theatre and film in Ireland before going on to train as a director on Middlesex University’s International MA in Theatre Directing course, where she specialised in Shakespeare, comedy, Michael Chekhov and Balinese Theatre.
The course will be held at the Loughrea Hotel each Thursday night from 7pm to 9pm and is priced at €120, with €100 concessions available for students, the unemployed or Equity members.
